I'll do my best to check back here more often!

Studying sucks doesn't it Su? Well, I really don't have to study much, but I have to read a lot. I have 2 papers due next Tuesday, but they should not be too bad. Whenever I type contractions into this post, it says that it's wrong...except for that "it's." Strange. I can't wait until your test is over though so you don't have to stress about it AND that means it's going to be my birthday.

Just 19 days!

I'm really excited. And I can't wait for you to meet Tall Kid...or at least see him?! Hahaha. I was thinking about the various people I'm planing on inviting to my little get together and it should be interesting to see how all these people interact. It's going to be great though. I can feel it.

Not much is going on with me. I started volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club in Champaign and I basically help the first graders out. They are all crazy. One little girl, Lyndon, read me "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie," which was soooo adorable. She was so good at reading. And there was this little child and I honestly didn't know if it was a boy or girl and I accidently just guessed she (because it had on  a silver and purple helmet and a winnie the pooh umbrella) but it was a BOY. And I asked his name and he said, "Sage." That's completely unisex. But I apologized to the poor little guy and we made paper airplanes and he got in huge trouble for that...oops! But he knows a lot about engineering for being so young! But they're all super cute. I helped another little boy with the colors of the rainbow because he didn't know them and he gave me his picture afterwards! BUT when I went to sign out for the day, I set it down, and one of the workers took it :(  I was really upset.

I'm either going to pretend to be busy with reading or go for a run...but i"ll talk to you girls soon!

oh katie... techno night sounds like it was fun. i'm glad you had a good time until that guy felt like being a creep. i'm really excited to be coming down for your birthday. i know we keep saying this, but it'll be an awesome night! and i really hope christine that we do not forget it... haha!

i changed the layout - hope you both didn't mind. it was time for a change. this one reminds me of summer, even though it is now september. but it's still really warm out. in fact, it was absolutely disgusting out today. and i'm sure it was just as bad by both of you. but tomorrow is supposed to be lovely -- a high in the low 70s. perfect weather if you ask me!

not much has been happening here. i've been studying a lot, which really takes a lot of determination. but i'm feeling pretty good about stuff. i had to work this morning. i was hoping for a nice morning, but i (stupidly) forgot that yesterday we were closed. so needless to say, it was very busy. we had like no carts to sort stuff onto. we ended up using AV carts for a while just to put stuff on. when i left at 1 things weren't as bad, but i was still happy to get out! and i actually haven't even been working a lot lately. i've been getting about 5 to 10 hours a week. it's not much, but it's good because i get time to do other stuff.

so i talked briefly with kristen today.. she finished breaking dawn and she said she loved it! i mean, there were parts of it i liked, but it was mostly a dissapointment. when i see her longer i'll actually have to find out what she like about it.

anywho, i hope you both are having a good week so far! i need to talk to both of you soon. it's been too long!

hello my lovelies! i miss you both tons already! i can't wait until we are reunited for a night we will (hopefully) never forget! i'm jealous about all the boy encounters you have had, but laura told me some cute nerdy boys moved in below us, so we'll have to wait and see how that turns out! i love the new layout, so good job to whoever did it! tomorrow is my first day and when i actually figure out my class schedule, i'll be sure to post it on here for your guys!! love you and miss you both bunches!

My schedule is pretty laid back:

Monday : Curriculum instruction 8am-11am
Tuesday:  Russian History 10-11:20am, Classic Civilizations 12-1:20pm, French Revolution 3-5pm
Wednesday: Curriculum instruction 8-11am, and another CI from 7-8pm
Thursday:  Russian History and Classic Civ again
Friday: Education Organization and Leadership from 10-11am.

Pretty sweet. I have work in the afternoons and Vis-A-Vis in the evening so I'm busy, but I don't have the super crazy long days like I did last semester. And I've had fun so far this year!

On Saturday I went to the infamous joe's (which we will hit up for my 21st...because it's "techno" night on Saturdays) where this crazy guy kept trying to dance with me, but I would just stop and he walked away. But there was a semi-cute guy that I danced with until he started lifting up my skirt....naughty boy. That sounds more dramatic that it really was...but it was fun...until that point. Natalie (my roommate from last year Su)  visited and she brought polish vodka (potato vodka) and she got pretty drunk and is a GREAT dancer so that was fun as well.

Today I fell in love with a boy in a wheelchair. I was sitting at a table with him and didn't even notice until we left (and we left early because the teacher never showed...i got up at 6:30 this morning for nothing). I didn't ask his name, so when I find out, I'll let you guys know!

Christine! I friended Tim from the library! Nate pressured me to do it...so I did. And he probably still thinks I'm a freak, hahahahaha (or hshshshs). BTW I hope you're enjoying your new computer!

What else? I'm going to a toga party on Friday! I'm excited for that. That's all that's going on. I cannot wait until my birthday. It's going to be so much fun and I get to celebrate it with my favoritest people....you have now idea how amazing it is that you guys are coming to see me!

That's all i got. Tomorrow is like my first day because I know that I'll actually have class...so I'll update eventually. Let me know what's up with you guys....even if you think you're not doing much, you probably are!

p.s. that just reminded me I got to talk to a brit on Sunday at the Vis-A-Vis table on Quad Day. He was sooooo excited to start tutoring and he was talking a mile a minute so I don't even know what he said. I had to ask him several times to repeat himself...oops?! Love you girls!

hey!! so i know it has obviously been forever since we've been here. but i figure since you are both back at school, we should start this thing up again! it really hasn't sunk in that i'm not going back to school - but i guess once september hits i'll realize that i'm done for good!

i know you both just left so not much has really changed. thanks both very much for the birthday wishes. it was a really nice day... it's so beautiful here! i can't wait to see you both for katie's 21st. it'll be a great weekend!!! :)

hey!!

so i decided that we should do a countdown til summer... because it won't come quick enough. i'll be home in 27 DAYS!!!!!!!!! what about you katie? i know christine you said you'd be home in four weeks from today. i absolutely cannot wait!! although i'm coming back here for graduation on the 9th, but that's okay. i'll officially be done with everything before then, so yay! i just wish it was warmer here... how it by you guys? and plus the rain makes everything more dreary.

i hope you're both doing great! i can't wait to see you!!!!! katie, i may be traveling to U of I this saturday just for the afternoon... so if i do, i'll be sure to let you know! well, homework is calling. talk to you both soon!

so, st. louis weather is awesome. i'm just going to throw that one out there. it's 55 degrees this morning and i love it! the grass is green, the sky is blue, the sun is shining! how awesome is that to wake up to? this is going to be a good day, i can already tell. i need to move to the south. i need to be able to have these kinds of days in march. it makes me happy.

so.... i love american idol. you should definitely watch this season. there are soooo many good people, including david. there are actually 2 other davids in the top 12, which is confusing. but yeah, so many great singers this time around. one of my favorites is jason castro. this is a link to my favorite song by him so far: http://youtube.com/watch?v=S0AT_rwiogc  he messed up the last note.. but i can forgive him for that. and it's actually bad because you can now buy their songs on itunes and i've already bought two of them. :/ oh well!

i can't wait for this summer either! it's going to be great. picnics, the beach, and chicago all sound great. and i totally want to wear dresses downtown... we'll all look so cute! and my dad cleverly "forgot" that he said we could get a dog. but don't worry, i'll keep reminding him until we finally get one.... because dotti needs a best friend!

i hope you both are having a good week. my break has been okay so far. i just wish it was longer. i could use more sleep! but i can't wait to see you both. have a safe drive home!

SU!!!

You should have come and visited me this weekend. I don't want you to be there anymore!!! I hope everything is fine and it's just scary because no matter what the school tells you, you're always going to be a little jumpy. I still get nervous when I'm in my big lecture halls...you can find me near the doors! You're going to be fine though. I love you and hang in there!!

So yeah, about unofficial, apparently the Six pack and FAR/PAR are the really bad dorms so those are the only places where they had the extra security. You guys could have come, but at least we'll know that for next year. And it'll be even better because I'm going to be 21. I can't believe that I'm going to be 21. That is so ridiculous and I really can't wait. I really want to see you girls too. I miss you both so much.

School is okay for me. I'm so glad the weekend is here just because it's supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow (only the 40s today) but I'm like ready to go out and tan (even though there is still snow on the ground).  Seriously this is what we're going to do:

Wake up by like 9am, take our dogs for a nice little walk for exercise (because our dogs will be BFF just like us), and then sunbathe either at home or go to the beach. And we should go on picnics!!! And wear dresses when we go to Millennium Park in Chicago, perhaps for some of the free concerts from the Mix if they're good. Oh my...I just have sooo many ideas. I'm excited.

Okay I'm going to go before I start going even crazier. BUT, I want to post a link because if you guys have not heard of this boy...he's sooo amazing. I don't watch american idol, but I watched some of the tryouts (whatever they're called) and I saw him and have been you tubing him to hear his songs. You'll love him!

hello again.

i just wanted to let you both know something that has been going on here and it's kinda making me nervous. yesterday in one of the dorms there was graffiti saying that ISU will be the next NIU. when i heard that, i got really nervous about going to class, but we got a message from the president of the university saying that they were investigating everything and that there would be more police on the campus. and then this morning when i got up there was an update saying there were two more NIU-related graffiti incidents... one in my dorm and one in a dorm right next to mine. the president emailed everyone again saying how they just believe the people that are doing this are only doing it to make everyone fearful and they are continuing to investigate. he also said if people didn't feel safe leaving their rooms they didn't have to go to classes today and they wouldn't get in trouble for missing. luckily i don't have classes today so i definitely won't be leaving my building. and a lot of people are going home this weekend. that is making me even more nervous. i really want to go home too, but i know if i do i won't want to come back on sunday. it's just really frustrating that some people are idiots and have to make everyone so nervous. i just wish spring break was this week. anyway, sorry to ramble.
